With the school year ramping up, it can be difficult to find the time to eat right and exercise, but this is the time when it’s the most important to make healthy choices with our body. We understand how hard it can be to find the time to eat right and exercise, so we want to give you some tips that have worked for us.
Meal Prep
Meal prepping can go a long way in ensuring that you eat healthy and don’t reach for junk food out of convenience. Pick one day a week, preferably Sunday, and dedicate an hour or two to meal prepping for the week. Make a huge batch of one or two meals, divide them into single portion containers, and pop them in the fridge so they are ready to go throughout the week. Not only will you have a healthy option ready for you to take to school/work/internship, you will also save a ton of money by not eating out as often.
Find a Workout You Enjoy Working out is so much easier when you actually enjoy the workout you are doing. If you don’t like the idea of working out at a gym, get yourself outdoors. Go for a swim, go on a walk, take a hike, or go on a bike ride. If you prefer to be more social while exercising, consider taking a dance class, CrossFit class, or joining a sports team. Exercise doesn’t have to be done in a gym, any activity that keeps you active and moving is going to benefit you.
Get a Workout Buddy Working out with a friend can make the experience so much more enjoyable. Working out with a friend can also help keep you accountable. It’s much harder to back out of a workout when you have someone relying on you to show up.
